‘Daddy is a state of mind.’ Pedro Pascal would certainly agree with this statement. The Chilean-American actor, 47, has played father roles in a plethora of projects throughout his almost three-decades-old journeys in cinema and acting and he seemingly continues to take pleasure in being an on-screen daddy to many kids. The Mandalorian actor is making it to headlines for his spectacular performance in HBO’s The Last of Us.

He plays an emotionally unavailable dad in the video game adapted project. But his journey towards getting the role is not so heartless after all. Rather, it is one of the most heartwarming and overwhelming journeys one could come across. So here are all the details you need to know about the biggest casting of the year of the Game of Thrones star. Well, he does not have so many children in the video game adaptation, at least.
Pedro Pascal on getting the father figure role in HBO’s live-action adaptation of The Last of Us
Pascal recently appeared on The Tonight Show. After a significant amount of talking about his career and how he came out as a big star, Jimmy Fallon jumped right into Pascal’s recent endeavor. Well, the man certainly knows his job. When he asked how the role in HBO’s series came about, the 47-year-old replied, “that was a really strange circumstance.” He further went on to say that as he and the Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin talked, they “fell in love.” (with the idea, of course).
Notably, after talking with the video game creator, he had to take Ambien, a medicine to cure sudden insomnia, to rest his apparent anticipation and excitement. And in the morning, the first thing he got on his mind was the big question, naturally so. As soon as The Mandalorian actor checked his phone, he received the good news already. He certainly was the man for the job! His reaction you ask? “Oh, yeah! I got the job.” he mimicked on The Tonight Show with utmost enthusiasm. You can watch the whole episode here.
The Last of Us debuted on January 15 only on HBO Max. What are your thoughts about Pedro Pascal flaunting his estranged smuggler-turned-father role? Do let us know in the comments below.
